MAC Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick Review, Photos, Dupes

I've had this lipstick for almost a year, it was my first MAC lipstick so it holds a special place in my heart. My girlfriend purchased it for my birthday last year. I eventually want to have reviews of every single one of my favorite beauty products.

MAC Claims: M∙A∙C and hip-hop diva Nicki Minaj join forces to create VIVA GLAM Nicki, a scene-stealing Lipstick.

Viva Glam Nicki is a gorgeous pink, it has yellow undertones which present a sort of bubblegum pink. It does have hints of coral but nothing major. It has a satin finish-which I'm quite fond of next to the amplified finish. The shade is a bright daring pink. I wasn't disappointed at all besides having to re-apply after a few hours. I think it'd look great on any skin tone.

Pros: 

All proceeds go to the MAC Aids Fund.

Unique pink shade.

Cons:

Shows lip imperfections.

Not as long-lasting as other shades.

MAC RiRi Woo Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches, Dupes.

   MAC Claims: Rihanna loves M∙A∙C. The global superstar with style-blazing looks as diverse as her musical hits needs no introduction. Neither does RiRi Woo - our cult classic shade Ruby Woo remixed with a bit of RiRi edge.

      Some say it sold out within the first 3 hours but from my own personal conversations, it was already unobtainable after one hour of being released. I set my alarm to wake up 15 minutes before it was released and I was already in the online queue. The site was having major crash issues, thanks to us MAC girls/boys plus the die-hard Rihanna fans! I sat on the waiting page for about 20 minutes for MAC to take me to my cart. Finally 50 minutes after it was released, my lipstick was secured. RiRi Woo will be re-released on June 18th 2013 with the rest of the Summer Rihanna Hearts Mac Collection. The collection is supposed to be online only while the other two seasonal collections will be available online and in-store.

 RiRi Woo is a matte cool red lipstick. The lipstick comes with RiRi Woo engraved in to the lipstick. I'm not a huge fan of Matte lipsticks but this one I actually like. It pulls on the lips but the finish is gorgeous. This one is a little more different because it's a Retro Matte but your lips don't feel super dry as they would with other matte lipsticks.

   If you've read any other review on MAC's RiRi Woo, I'm pretty sure you know that it's very similar to Ruby Woo and most would say there's no need to own both. Though, Rihanna said she purposely wanted her shade to be designed with her favorite shade, ruby woo, in mind.

MAC Claims: "Colour plus texture for the lips that made M·A·C famous. Limited-edition shade of Sounds Like Noise, a true bright orange inspired by Hayley Williams."

MAC Sounds Like noise is honestly a true orange. It doesn't have those red undertones that other MAC lipsticks have like Morange & Neon Orange. I love this lip color. It's totally bright and unlike my last purchase, Violetta, the tube color is the same color you'll get on your lips.

MAC Claims: "The Lipstick dreams were made of" is back so you can get your fix of the

vibrant, matte pink of Candy Yum-Yum.

This color is to die for! It's totally buildable with a blue base. It's so deep and loud. I feel like I should come back as this lipstick in another life! It smells amazing, it lasts and it's not drying on the lips like most matte lipsticks. This should definitely be a part of your lipstick collection. If you don't usually buy makeup in this price range, I feel as though Candy Yum Yum should be that exception. There are other dupes for this but they aren't quite like this one.

Pros: vibrant, buildable, great smell

Wear: Neutral eye, bold liner and no lipgloss

The Lipstick-loving diva is back to serve up a delectable duo of Lipstick and Lipglass in an all-new shade of pastel lavender pink. Every cent of the selling price goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

I was really hyped about this lipstick. I didn't really know what to expect because the color is so drastic. This color is...BOLD. I'll admit not everyone can pull it off. I love the color and pigmentation is great. It has a creamy and a sheer finish. It literally just glides on, but with that being said..it can easily glide off. You can start off light or build your way up to lavender madness if you'd like. I'll definitely going to buy the lipglass.

I went for the lipstick before the lipglass just in case it looked dreadful.  If lipstick looks awful you just add a different color lipglass, when lipglass looks horrible you just..put it in the back of the stash. So I had to choose just one first so I would've potentially wasted $15 instead of $30.

 

Cost: $15
Pros: Very buildable. Really Pigmented. Statement, bold color. Long lasting.
Cons: Color not versatile for skin tones. Swipes off easily. The rumors are true, your teeth will appear yellow if you don't have gorgeous white teeth.

New M.A.C + Nicki Minaj LIPSTICK!

In 2010 singer/rapper Nicki Minaj teamed up with M.A.C. Cosmetics to release Pink Friday lipstick, In 2012, they released Viva Glam Nicki. On December 5,2012 MAC announced they are coming back again with a new lipstick to be released February 9, 2013. Instead of going with the pink tradition, the new lipstick is LAVENDER! As with the last two lipsticks, the lipstick titled "Nicki 2" is also a satin-finish. Last year, MAC emailed its subscribers about pre-ordering the lipstick a week before it was set to be released. I'm hoping this new release comes with email also! "Nicki 2" will also be apart of MAC's Viva Glam line and as usual, all profits will go to HIV/AIDS charities.
