Talkative Tuesday: Life Update..Stay-at-home SISTER?

Hello beauties. I haven't done a life update in over a year. I like to do life updates as a way to add a personal feel to my blog. I usually get pretty nice feedback on these kind of posts so let's get started!

I haven't really talked much about the major event that changed my life back in December 2014. One reason is because it's really a sensitive topic and it's a legal issue. Long story short my brother was seriously injured at his workplace. His injuries involved 2 amputations; his foot and parts of the foot had to be reattached. Needless to say he can't walk or fiend for himself and that's where I come in at. Whatever he needs I'm there for and sometimes it really dampens my spirits to see him in such a state but I'm also extremely grateful. His healing process will be a slow one and I'll be here for every step of the process, from tons of doctor visits to handing him water in the middle of the night.

I'll be using this time to focus on my blog, enrolling in online classes and maybe even start a YouTube channel. In my last life update, I told you guys that I'd earned my Esthetician license and that I had started classes for my degree. I'll be continuing with my degree in Business Marketing.

I'm almost at 300 bloglovin' followers, which is amazing for me considering all that I've been through since I've started blogging. I'd love to do a giveaway when I reach 300! I've been spending a lot of time on twitter, which has got me to thinking that I'd love to start a USA beauty blogger chat, even though I love participating in #bbloggers and #fblchat. I honestly missed blogging on my blog regularly; I missed interacting with others with my same interest. Besides my immediate family, you guys are who I talk to daily.

Talkative Tuesday: My Makeup & Brush Storage

Happy Tuesday! I decided to show you how I store my makeup and brushes. I couldn't do a full on makeup and brush collection because a lot of my makeup, palettes and brushes are packed for my trip. My storage is pretty simple for the most part. I don't have tons of makeup so this system fits me well. I want to later invest in one unit with several drawers for my collection.

The clear drawers are by sterilite and can be found pretty much anywhere like Target, Walmart or dollar stores.

The metal mesh file holder for my palettes is from a thrift store but I've seen identical ones at super stores or office supply stores.

Three of the larger brush holders are actually *cough* crown royal glasses *cough* that my brother gave to me to use as brush holders. The smaller glass (middle) is from Michael's. I also bought the small vase filler beads from michael's to help stand up my brushes. Both of those can be found at any craft store.

The printed box along with two other different printed boxes were a gift from my lovely girlfriend and I use this one to hold bracelets. The jewelry dress is from a dollar store I believe. That adorable little hot pink kabuki brush is from Sally's for $0.99 (by the register). I bought it and a few other brushes to use for decoration because they all have hot pink bristles and black handles.

10 Summer Beauty Must Haves!

Hey beauties! Welcome to day 3 of Summer Madness. How freaking horrible is it when we're out for some Summer fun and we forget something at home? Or we forget that mascara and eyeliner can potentially turn us into a raccoon? It's just not pleasant. For Talkative Tuesday, I decided to create my own list of Summer beauty must haves. You can use these products for a beach trip, pool day, a waterpark trip or just a busy outdoor shopping day! I hope you beauties find my list helpful <3

Sheer suncreen. Doesn't that say enough? It's waterproof, light weight and soothing. I say yes!

2. Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Lip Color
"Red My Mind" is my go-to red lip product. It's perfect,it won't come off for anything in the world. It's vibrant and matte. For a wetter look add a coat of gloss.

I'm on the way to the beach, the pool or seaworld. I know my hair is going to get wet and messy but I need to look cute before my hair actually gets wet..what shall I do? Wet my hair and spray this stuff on it to give me the effortless water waves before I actually get into the water.

Ahh carmex! Why do I need a 3 pack? Because I'll lose two of them on the way to my destination. These babies have spf 15 and they're water resistant up to 80mins after you apply. They'll moisturize your lips and make them appear glossy.

These hair ties are colorful, no metal in the way and super stretchable. What more can we ask for in a hair tie?

6. Always Clean Feminine Wipes Refill
Sometime we're all sweaty during the day and we need a refresher down there. These wipes are great for on-the-go.

7. Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush
Using a cream blush insures that your perfect blush won't go anywhere despite sweat or humidity.

8. Maybelline Volum' Express The Rocket Waterproof Mascara
This gives amazing volume and length did I mention, it's freaking waterproof!

9. Black Radiance Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
Waterproof. Waterproof. Waterproof. Ahh this is perfect. It has a super fine tip that's perfect for precision eyeliner.

Would You Rather Tag (Beauty Edition)

Hey Beauties. I took this tag from Mrs Beauty Junkie! Check out her lovely blog. If you do this tag, comment below so I can read your answers! PS. Expect a bit of rambling.

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?Oh dear, this is gonna be so freaking hard. Okay so I'd rather lose my eyeshadows because I'd figure out some kind of way to use my lip products for eyeshadow. It'd be impossible to turn to my shadows into mascara and lipglosses. Well for lipglosses I could use eyeshadow and vaseline but that's not the point!

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I would cut all my hair because my hair grows so fast that within a few months I would have hair again.

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Pink cheeks because I generally just love those so much more!

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Makeup! I know I'm horrible...oh and if you haven't seen my $1000 makeup tag check it out here lol

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner for lipstick! Lipstick just doesn't seem like it'd be a decent consistency for eyeliner.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
AHH! What kind of horrible question is this? Okay umm let's go with Sephora. As much as I LOVE MY MAC, Sephora has way more brands and I'm sure I'd find MAC dupes.

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life? One lip color because I NEED my colorful eyeshadows and I remember in High School I only wore 2 shades similar shades of MAC lip colors(Pink Poodle & Flashmode) and I made it out fine hehe.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter? Summer clothes in the winter. I can always layer my summer clothes, but I'd have a freaking heat stroke in winter clothes during the summer.

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
I'm kind of indifferent about this one but dark nails because they can go with any color.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product? Favorite eye product, there's always an exact dupe for eyeshadow somewhere :)

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun? Ponytail..there's so many different style you can do for a ponytail!

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss? Never paint my nails again, my nails look horrible so I rarely paint them and I'm not able to get them done due to certain activities so it wouldn't phase me much.

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday? lol a sharpie huh? I'd rather sharpie them in..but then I'd just get bangs to hide them.

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Talkative Tuesday: Blog Post/Video Tips & Ideas!

Somewhere someone told us how important it is to keep your blog readers interested and keep them coming back. The key to this is, of course, writing diverse and unique posts. Unless your blog is only for reviews, it's not good to keep doing the same types of posts. I'm still learning how to do this and actually apply this to my life.

Sometimes it's hard for bloggers/vloggers to stay motivated and find inspiration for posts/videos. I always find it easier to maintain my blogs if I already have drafts. For a beauty/fashion channel/blog it's always best to switch it up between reviews, tutorials and hauls but what do you do when you're all out of inspiration?

Series prove to be my best method. Typically, I try to always have a fashion post on Friday for my Fashion Friday series. Seeing that my blog is both beauty/fashion I need to include more fashion posts. My original intentions were to do Outfit of the Day's but lack of a decent camera/tripod and someone to take my photos, the idea sort of drifted away. I've found a timer camera app so you can expect more fashion posts.

I figure with all of these ideas. We should be able to come up with a post everyday of the week. Pre-write posts and save them as drafts or schedule the post for those days when you don't have any inspiration. I typically like to post everyday Mon-Fri. On the weekends, I write my drafts for posts I can post later on. These ideas can be used for both videos and blog posts. I hope you found my ideas/tips helpful!

Building My Makeup Collection

I can say I have more makeup than the average person. I don't have hoards but a few people would say that I have a lot of makeup. You know when someone comes over saying you have too much makeup or you spend too much on it? Meanwhile you're trying your damnedest to explain how much makeup you don't have or how much more makeup you need, until you finally give it a rest. I know I don't need to validate why I have so much makeup or why I need more but I still find myself trying to explain and account for all of my makeup.

My theory is that I generally need products in every color. I have a few large pre-made eye shadow palettes and tons of single/duo/quad palettes that I can mix & match colors so I generally don't need any more eye shadow colors. I just want to be able to create any look with any colors and already have the products here at home. I have more than enough mascaras, face products, and glosses.

I find that I build up my collection better, as a whole, if I do certain sections at a time. I still purchase other products, my focus is just on the specific type until I get somewhat pleased. If you regularly read my blog, you've noticed my focus lately has been lipsticks.

Before I started building I had only 5 lipsticks..Viva Glam Nicki 1, maybelline, milani, nyx, and black radiance. All are pink and one red. Last fall I started on the lipstick section of products. I purchased browns, dark reds, and nudes. So when spring time started coming, I started getting brighter colors. I believe I'm up to about 22 lipsticks. After my last order comes in (RiRi Woo), I'll stop focusing on lipsticks and focus on Lip/Eye liners..gels/pencils/liquid.
