REVIEW: Morphe Mini Brushes

When I first saw one of my favorite youtuber's using a Morphe mini brush, I couldn't believe it. That brush was like a dream come true for my small slightly-hooded eyes. I knew I had to try them because let's just say crease brushes are basically useless when they cover the crease plus the browbone and eyeline area of my small eyes. 

I ended up purchasing the M507-Pointed Mini Blender and the B16-Mini Smudger Brush. Both brushes turned out to be a dream come true for me. They are super soft and get the job done perfectly.

I use the M507 to blend out my crease and outer-V area. It also works great for applying highlighter to my cupid's bow. It's nice and pointy, not to mention mini so it gets into the right places so perfectly. Before using this brush, which I love even more than my Sigma E45- small tapered brush, blending eyeshadow into my crease meant adding it to my brow-bone because my other small blending brushes were still too big.

Simply put, the B16 basically made my under-eye eyeshadow goals come to life. Most of the brushes I've used for the job were either too big or had no blending qualities; but this little magical baby is just the right size for my lower lash line without smudging eyeshadow half way down to my nose, haha!

MAC Wash & Dry 125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush

When I first saw the MAC 2015 Summer Wash & Dry Collection, I immediately knew I had to own the 125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush. This is the first contour makeup brush in this style that I own, as I just could not shell out the money to purchase the NARS Ita brush. However, I have been eyeing the E.L.F, Sonia Kashuk and Real Techniques brushes similar to the 125. Anyways, I fell head over heels for the design of this summer's MAC collection, it's freaking amazing!

MAC's 125SE Brush is a split fibre brush, meaning each side is made of two different materials- synthetic fibers and natural fibers. The synthetic fibers are perfect for cream products while the natural side is better for powder products. Both sides are quite soft, durable and really work well to blend in the product.

I would say that this is a splurge buy as it is on the pricey side ($38USD) and it's also a specialized brush in my opinion because, unless you're like me who contours every time I apply foundation, you might not use it as often. I can say that I love this brush and I'm interested in purchasing Freshen Up, a highlighter, from the Wash & Dry collection as well.

Review: Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush

I recently purchased Sigma's F80 brush after I'd been eyeing it for almost a year. I'm pretty pleased with my purchase and wish I'd purchased it sooner!

Review: Sigma E-45 Small Tapered Blending Brush

Sigma's E45 small tapered blending brush is of course for blending. What makes this brush a little different from alot of other tapered blending brushes is it's pointy tip, making crease-work easier. It's pointy little tip allows you to get into those little spots with more precision. It's fluffiness still allows you to blend effortlessly.

How-to use: Pick up color with just the tip and apply to crease to add depth and dimension to your eyes. The first thing I noted about this brush was how soft it was. I like that it's fluffy put still precise. 

Most likely, you've heard that the Sigma E45 is a dupe for MAC's 226 brush. The two things that make this brush better are of course the price but also the tips are different. As a makeup artist, I want the best quality for the lowest price for my pro kit. The Sigma E45 also has a pointy tip whereas the MAC 226 is a bit rounded at the tip. I'd prefer the Sigma E45 for a tapered blending brush on myself because of my small eyes.

BH Cosmetics 'Wild Purple' brush Set Review

I first discovered BH Cosmetics in 2010 while I was in search for a 120 palette. When I first arrived on the site all they sold were a few palettes. No editions,liners, foundation, blush nothing. I was highly impressed with the 120palette-2nd edition mainly for the pigment quality and the different shades(like red).

I bought this brush set along with other a few other items about a month ago. I had never tried any other products besides the 120palette from BH Cosmetics so I just wanted to get a feel of a few of their new products. In that order I received my brush set, party girl palette, 88 neutral palette(gift for my neutral-loving mama), two gel eyeliners- atlantic & burn, and two lip pencils-fuschia & raspberry and the duo-fibre stippling brush. I will review the other products if you ask.

I was very pleased with my order-delivery, packaging and products. The brush set retails at $29.95 but realize I've never seen the set on sale for more that $18. Normally it's on sale from $10-$15. I believed I paid $9. It comes in a nice faux leather case that rolls up nicely without damaging the brushes with a tie. All of the brushes are soft and dense. I've washed them several times and seen absolutely no shedding. The handles are also quite secure. In my opinion, they pick up and hold the product very well. 

What I don't like about the brushes is that they are not labeled or numbered, in which i know a lot of brushes aren't labeled but there are about 3 or 4 brushes that look nearly identical and while we know the difference, I feel like a beginner wouldn't be able to identify which was which. The blending brush does not look like your conventional blending brush instead looks like a normal eyeshadow brush. The set comes with 3 eyeshadow brushes, one being the sponge (not pictured below) and 2 VERY identical brushes,while one is called flat eyeshadow and the other small flat eyeshadow. Mind you there is no size difference. The smudge brush also had the density and length of a blending brush and works perfectly as such.
