3 BAD Beauty Habits I'd love to break!

#1 Biting My Nails
UGH, don't they look awful? The ring and pinky finger are the ones that I've managed not to bite. I stopped biting my nails for about 7 months for the first time in my life and it was so wonderful. After the 7 months, I somehow picked the habit back up. It's soo bad because I love nail polish and I can't even really wear it because my nails are so short. I'm working on breaking this habit because I pretty much need nails to post NOTD's haha!

#2 Not Up-keeping My Hair
This is huge one for me! My hair is around 22 inches long and I hardly ever maintain it for more than a few days when it's as long as it is now. When it's short: I'll brush it out and I love it. When it's long: fail. Let's just say I love long hair..just not the work that comes with it!

#3 Skipping My Morning Beauty Routine
I usually perform a short beauty routine at night but I hardly ever use products in the morning. I know it's not absolutely necessary but I think it'll help my skin out so much. From cleansing the overnight oil off my t-zone to applying SPF Moisturizer, I think I'd benefit so much! Since skipping my beauty routine, I have breakouts, more pigmentation, noticeable texture and dry patches. Those things...have to end.

What are some of your bad beauty habits you'd like to break?

REVIEW | Zakia's Black Soap, Kessa Exfoliating Glove and 100% Argan Oil

Last month I reviewed Zakia's Moroccan Clay Ghassoul Mask. A few weeks ago, she was kind enough to send me another package (no other forms of payment) with more of her products which I was super surprised and happy to receive because I enjoyed her Ghassoul Mask. You can read my thoughts on the Ghassoul Mask and more info on Zakia's products here. In my package I received the Moroccan Black Soap, Kessa Exfoliating Glove, 100% Pure, Organic Argan Oil - 2 oz and a nice body sponge.

Kessa + Black Soap

I'm currently trying to get my mom's skin on track after years..maybe a decade or more of her not using basically any skincare products. I was so happy with the Black Soap that I had to convince her to try it. Since her skin needs more work and attention than mine, it was a huge deal when the products made such a big difference on her skin.

The black soap has an extremely weird texture--sort of like slime but I had a blast applying it! Once applying small amounts all over my face, I used the Kessa to exfoliate every nook and cranny of my face. What I like about the Kessa compared to other exfoliating gloves, is its gentleness but it's still rough enough to get the job done. Some exfoliating gloves almost hurt or leave the skin irritated which the Kessa totally didn't.

The Kessa + Black Soap duo left our skin moisturized, extremely smooth with a beautiful glow. I've never had an at-home product that could me skin feel and look so good. Honestly, I'd recommend this for professional use.

100% Argan Oil

This oil can be used for face, body and hair. Even though some 100% natural oils have been known to cause breakouts in my super-oily T-zone..I still wanted to try Zakia's 100% Argan Oil and I'm glad I did. I applied this oil as a moisturizer after cleansing and exfoliating to  my slightly damp face. The next day, I didn't have an excess of oil in my t-zone and my dry areas were well moisturized. It goes without saying that I love using this oil.

MAC Wash & Dry 125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush

MAC Wash & Dry 125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush.Pictures Review

When I first saw the MAC 2015 Summer Wash & Dry Collection, I immediately knew I had to own the 125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush. This is the first contour makeup brush in this style that I own, as I just could not shell out the money to purchase the NARS Ita brush. However, I have been eyeing the E.L.F, Sonia Kashuk and Real Techniques brushes similar to the 125. Anyways, I fell head over heels for the design of this summer's MAC collection, it's freaking amazing!

MAC Wash & Dry 125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush.Pictures Review

MAC's 125SE Brush is a split fibre brush, meaning each side is made of two different materials- synthetic fibers and natural fibers. The synthetic fibers are perfect for cream products while the natural side is better for powder products. Both sides are quite soft, durable and really work well to blend in the product.

MAC Wash & Dry 125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush.Pictures Review

I would say that this is a splurge buy as it is on the pricey side ($38USD) and it's also a specialized brush in my opinion because, unless you're like me who contours every time I apply foundation, you might not use it as often. I can say that I love this brush and I'm interested in purchasing Freshen Up, a highlighter, from the Wash & Dry collection as well.

Have you purchased anything or been eyeing any products from MAC's Wash & Dry collection? What brushes have you been into lately?

Finally purchased Kat Von D Tattoo Liner-Trooper!

The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner has already been raved about but I decided that since I've wanted it for such a long time, I'd do my own quick review just because I have seen a few mixed reviews from other beauty bloggers!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Trooper

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Trooper

Kat Von D's liner is always talked about for its very fine tip--just perfect for winged eyeliner. What I like about this liner is that the tip itself doesn't get as messy or dry out as fast as other liners. I've had eyeliners that have such a long tip that more product ends on my lashes than the line of my eye!

I also like the fact that the liner is buildable--I can do a quick swipe or I can go over the line multiple times for a dramatic black without the liner appearing cakey, which is one of my biggest issues. I'm not much a pencil liner gal at all, I've used liquid eyeliners since before I knew how to use them properly haha! I'm still not sure if I prefer my eyeliner pens over my liquid liner. I'm so happy I finally purchased it, as it was definitely not a disappointment.

Ruby Kisses Matte Lipsticks Review, Photos, & Swatches

I'm a major fan of unconventional lipstick colors. I was browsing in a locally owned store when I came across the Ruby Kisses Matte Lipsticks. I decided to pick up Blue Lagoon and Graylite. Can we just take  a moment to bask in the fact that I found a gray lipstick! Not only do I love the quality; I love how affordable these lipsticks are.

These lipstick go on smoothly; they don't tug on the lips like a lot of matte lipsticks do. They last on the lips for a good amount of time. The only con: if you don't set them, they can definitely rub off. Nonetheless, I will for sure be purchasing some of their other shades such as Peach Loo, Aquatic Blue and Mojito Lover! You can purchase them here as they aren't too easy to find in stores that aren't locally owned.

I received so many compliments and questions when I wore Blue Lagoon this past weekend!

Dessange Paris Oleo Miracle Collection Review

The Dessange Oleo Miracle hair system is formulated to treat over-processed and damaged hair. My hair damage isn't very noticeable to others because of products I use to add moisture or shine. I want my hair to appear healthy without the use of products that mask the problem instead of fixing it. This formula includes argan, pracaxi and camellia oils, which all work together to strengthen, nourish, protect and add shine to your hair.

Hair Waxing 101: What it is, allergic reactions and 4 Reasons Why It's Better Than Shaving!

In this post I'll be speaking on two of many types of epilation (ie. waxing, laser, threading) and depilation (ie. shaving, chemicals such as nair) hair removal. Depilatories only remove hair from the skin's surface while epilatories remove hair from and beneath the skin's surface.

Review: Perlier Volcanic Thermal Renewing Body Scrub

Hey beauties! Every since I started Esthetics school, the word spa has a whole new meaning to me. I learn in a spa setting and use spa products all day, scrubs included. Perlier, HSN and iFabbo teamed up to send me this lovely little product.

Scrubs are designed to exfoliate and hydrate your skin while also increasing circulation. You want it to remove the dead skin cells that clog your follicles without being too rough or irritating your skin. Because our face is a lot softer and sensitive than the rest of our body, body scrubs will be a little bit rougher than facial scrubs.

"Much more than just a scrub, it is a true beauty treatment for the body. Various-sized natural minerals deeply stimulate skin regeneration while smoothing out the outer skin. With the energy of volcanic stones, it revives the vital functions of the skin and makes it firm, velvety, more receptive to the following treatments with results comparable to a spa. Massage on moist skin and rinse with fresh water."

Pros:
Fresh Scent
Not harsh like other body scrubs
Plenty of product for use
Contains natural minerals
Jelly-like texture
Had different sized particles for multiple benefits

Cons:
Larger particles might be too rough and dissolve slowly
Nothing thermal or warm about the scrub

I expected a strong and overwhelming smell, mainly because the packaging and color reminds me of icy hot hehe; but the scent was light and refreshing. I enjoyed this scrub, it left my skin feeling a bit smoother and refreshed. I think it'd be nice for an at-home spa evening.

My Rating: 7/10

The Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub is 6.7 fl oz (200mL), made in Italy, and can be found on HSN for $25. Use the code iFabbo5 to receive $5 off your purchase.

Do you have a favorite body scrub?

Fall/Autumn Wishlist #1 (Beauty Edition)

Autumn is officially upon us. You already know what that means..goodbye neon makeup. Hello dark lippies, golden eyes and deep nail polishes. I wasn't the biggest fan of the autumn makeup trends but hey..the makeup artist is maturing. I've compiled a list of makeup items that I'd like to own for the season. Maybe you can use some of these items for your own wishlist..if you don't find them too daring. Without further chatting..let's jump into it!

Review: BH Cosmetics 10 Color Camouflage Concealer Palette

I've tried other concealers, but this my first concealer palette. Even though I'm a huge fan of BH Cosmetics eye shadow palettes, I was indecisive about purchasing this palette for awhile because of the price being extremely affordable. I wanted it to be good quality regardless of the inexpensive price. As an aspiring makeup up artist, I was pretty excited about all the different shades in the palette. I'm actually impressed with the quality of the concealers. The only con I have so far is that I wish there was a light green concealer; then it'd be perfect!

Color Ranges

The colors range from lightest to darkest tones with a few pink/salmon shades perfect for hiding blues such as under eye circles and veins. All of the shades are pretty creamy which is perfect especially for mixing to achieve your perfect shade. You want to make sure you set it with a powder whether it be translucent or a skin-tone shade powder. They're creamy without being too oily; just perfect for dry, oily or combination skin.

Even if you're not an MUA, you could probably find atleast 3 of these shades that could be useful.

1. Skin tone- Cover blemishes
2. Lighter than your skin- highlighting & hiding dark circles
3. Darker than your skin tone- Contouring and adding warmth to your face

(BELOW) 2 left shades are also pictured above

I'd suggest, sanitizing your hands first, using your finger to apply the product. This will warm it up, make it easier to blend out and ensure you can get into your tricky spots.  Of course if you're using it on several clients, you'd like to use stainless steel products with the palette. Overall, I'm really impressed and I'm glad I purchased this palette!
