4 Best Vitamins and Foods for Healthy, Beautiful Skin.

When we were little we were always being told about eating from every food group and how we should eat everything on our plate. Years later for us individuals who want naturally beautiful skin underneath our makeup, we've come to realize--our parents were right. What we eat plays a big role in how our skin and body looks.
---------------

Vitamin A: Essential for the renewal and growth of new skin cells. Produces collagen production and promotes skin cell turnover. With the growth of new skin cells we're talking wounds healing faster and a refreshed face. The common beauty use for Vitamin A is Acne Reduction. Top Vitamin A rich foods include Peaches, Oatmeal, Egg Yolks, Carrots, Cantaloupes and Sweet potatoes.

Vitamin B: Increases the amount of fatty acids in the skin which promote exfoliation and firmness. Vitamin B promotes circulation and a healthy glow to your skin. Top Vitamin B rich foods includes Molasses Syrup, Lean Meat, Wheat, Cheese, Avocados, Non/Low fat Yogurt.

Vitamin C: Reduces the appearance of hyper-pigmentation and creates a more even skin tone.  It also helps produce collagen which is the protein your body needs to produce skin, hair and nails. Collagen improves the elasticity of your skin, reducing fine lines, wrinkles and creating smoother skin. Top Vitamin C rich foods include Kiwi, Bell Peppers, Guava, Broccoli, Strawberries, and oranges.

Vitamin E: Antioxidant that helps build and maintain healthy skin tissue, protects and repairs skin. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals. Free radicals are the molecules from things like smoking, fatty foods and sunlight that can damage your skin causing acne, unevenness, dryness, and fine lines. Except, your body can't produce this vitamin. So it's up to us to consume Vitamin E rich foods.  Vitamin E can reduce the appearance of stretch marks, age spots, and blemishes. Top Vitamin E rich foods include peanuts, pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans and sunflower seeds.

The rundown: All of the vitamins work together to help our skin produce new skin cells, get rid of the bad skin cells and improve the look of our beautiful faces. We wear face products to temporarily fix all of our skin problems that vitamins can easily fix..permanently.

What about Vitamin D? Vitamin D can create moisture for our skin and cause less irritations. Vitamin D is not often included and overlooked because it coincides very well with the other vitamins. Most foods that are rich in Vitamin D are also very rich in other essential vitamins. Not to mention our body can produce it with the help of sunlight.

Eating foods that are rich in each individual vitamin can be time consuming. I've made a top 10 list of some items that are rich in either all or most of the essential vitamins we need.
1. Fish
2. Eggs
3. Fruit
4. Vegetables
5. Liver
6. Whole or skim milk
7. Cayenne
8. Chili Powder
9. Dried Fruits
10. Fortified Cereals/Dairy Products

I've been really focusing on what I'm putting into my body and how my skin reacts to certain things. I've began to replace a lot of ingredients with healthier options when I prepare my meals. Speaking of preparing my meals, I find that cooking ahead of time, ie. meal prep for the week, not only saves you money but it prevents you from grabbing that juicy big mac when you're out and about.

I'm not accustomed to preparing healthier meals that taste as delicious as the unhealthier versions without a little help, so I'm always turning to pinterest and healthier cookbooks for ideas. One cookbook I'd recommend is The Sugar-Free Kitchen. It's filled with recipes that not only taste yummy, but will help you eliminate some of the refined and undetected sugar sneaking it's way into your life and hindering your future even-more-flawless face! You can expect to see more posts like these coming your way, so stay tuned xx
