Alphabet Challenge: J is for Jumpers (Affordable Fashion)

Hey beauties! Welcome to week 10 of The Alphabet Challenge! This week's letter is J. If you'd like info on how to join the Alphabet Challenge, read below.

My "J" is for jumpers. Jumpers are understood to be different types of clothing in different countries, whether they're a type of dress or sweater. The jumpers I'll be showing you are sweater jumpers, waist length or oversized and worn with jeans or leggings during colder seasons. All of these sweaters are affordable(under $50).

Fall/Autumn Wishlist #1 (Beauty Edition)

Autumn is officially upon us. You already know what that means..goodbye neon makeup. Hello dark lippies, golden eyes and deep nail polishes. I wasn't the biggest fan of the autumn makeup trends but hey..the makeup artist is maturing. I've compiled a list of makeup items that I'd like to own for the season. Maybe you can use some of these items for your own wishlist..if you don't find them too daring. Without further chatting..let's jump into it!

Review: BH Cosmetics 10 Color Camouflage Concealer Palette

I've tried other concealers, but this my first concealer palette. Even though I'm a huge fan of BH Cosmetics eye shadow palettes, I was indecisive about purchasing this palette for awhile because of the price being extremely affordable. I wanted it to be good quality regardless of the inexpensive price. As an aspiring makeup up artist, I was pretty excited about all the different shades in the palette. I'm actually impressed with the quality of the concealers. The only con I have so far is that I wish there was a light green concealer; then it'd be perfect!

Color Ranges

The colors range from lightest to darkest tones with a few pink/salmon shades perfect for hiding blues such as under eye circles and veins. All of the shades are pretty creamy which is perfect especially for mixing to achieve your perfect shade. You want to make sure you set it with a powder whether it be translucent or a skin-tone shade powder. They're creamy without being too oily; just perfect for dry, oily or combination skin.

Even if you're not an MUA, you could probably find atleast 3 of these shades that could be useful.

1. Skin tone- Cover blemishes
2. Lighter than your skin- highlighting & hiding dark circles
3. Darker than your skin tone- Contouring and adding warmth to your face

I'd suggest, sanitizing your hands first, using your finger to apply the product. This will warm it up, make it easier to blend out and ensure you can get into your tricky spots.  Of course if you're using it on several clients, you'd like to use stainless steel products with the palette. Overall, I'm really impressed and I'm glad I purchased this palette!

What's your go-to concealer these days?

Review: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

smashbox photo finish foundation primer

I've tried a few foundation primers before but never a "high-end" primer. I'm a firm believer in all types of primers so I feel like they're absolutely necessary just to prep and prime (no mac pun intended) your face, eyes, lips etc. In the next month or so I'll definitely be posting a huge informative post on primers.

I applied the primer after my moisturizer and before my foundation just in the T-zone (my preference). This primer made my face feel a lot more smoother than other primers I've tried. The primer has that silky silicone feel and it's colorless. It totally hid those little fine lines and creases that would normally stand out when you get up close and personal once you've applied your foundation. My foundation lasted all day, meaning I didn't have do powder touch ups throughout the day.

Major Ingredients:
Dimethicone
Trisiloxane
Silica
Safflower Seed Extract,
Water
Grape Seed Extract
Cola Acuminata Seed Extract
Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract

This 60% water-based, oil free primer comes in four separate sizes. Prices range from $10-$50 at Sephora. Overall: I'm inlove with this primer. The only con is the price of course, but some things you have to invest in. I'd definitely use this on clients!

What foundation primer are you loving?

Maybelline Falsies Mascara
OMG. This is my all-time favorite mascara. It gives me length, volume and a little curl. It's just perfect. I own the waterproof, drama, regular and flared hehe..

BH Cosmetics 120 Palette 2nd edition
I've ran this palette down guys. I've had it since 2010 and I love it so much. I'll be getting another for clients and keep this one at home. I've collected a ton of more colorful palettes since purchasing this one but I love this palette so much!

Andis Flat Iron
Soon I'll be upgrading to a PYT Straightener. This little baby was the first straightener that could actually straighten and keep my hair straight. I've been using this since...*drumroll* 2007.

RiRi Hearts MAC Fall Collection Preview!!!

Rihanna broke the servers with both her RiRi Woo lipstick and Summer collection releases. Seriously, we all went nuts for those releases. Now Rihanna is back to release her Fall collection! The Fall Collection will be released on in-stores September 26th, online September 30th and at MAC counters October 3rd, 2013. It features a total of twenty(20) products. The packaging will be a gorgeous rose gold!

The collection will be both online and in stores, which is a huge relief for those of us who can't get to a MAC counter..that way the city gals can head over to MAC and let the computer geeks order online..thus creating a less stressful experience in the 45minute shopping cart wait as in the past.

Weekly Tag- Pink!

pink beauty products makeup

Every week, the lovely and talented Aqeela hosts a weekly makeup tag. She presents us with a new theme and we create a makeup look relating to that theme. This week, however the tag has changed a little bit, leaving a lot of room for even more creative posts. From now on, the posts will consist of anything relating to the theme ie. makeup look, outfit, products, nails..okay you got it :)

If you know just one thing about me, that one thing is that my favorite color is pink! As luck would have it, this week's theme is PINK. For about 9 months, I even had pink hair! When I first found out the theme I was like "omg, I have so much pink. I don't know which idea to choose." I decided to show you what some of my favorite pink items are <3

All photos of me.

Beauty on a Budget Review: Wet n Wild Creme Eyeliner

wet n wild creme eyeliner

I've heard so many good things about this liner, from notable sources might I add. I contemplated purchasing it for about a month. I'm actually really glad I gave it a shot.

I purchased this from CVS, that's right CVS instead of Walgreens. I bought mine for $3.99! I felt almost guilty for doing so lol. The little container on this baby is so adorable. Of course it comes with a little angled brush, which is decent but I still prefer my BH Cosmetics Angled Brush.

The consisentency is alot creamier than most cream formulas I've tried. I just barely put the brush in and picked up a decent amount of product without having to diggg my way into the jar. The payoff is very black, which I love. I believe I've found my holy-grail eyeliner.
