Welcome back post! Illness, life changes ugh.

Hey beauties! Happy Thanksgiving! Wooh it's been how long exactly..like 2 freaking months I think. So much has happened in my life with so many changes. My life was completely turned upside down once I got into beauty school and from there, it went further down!

While I was going through a really horrible breakup, I became ill. There's not a doctor around that can tell me exactly what's wrong. I was basically bed ridden for about 3 weeks without being able to hold down any food. I lost about 35lbs in less than two weeks. I basically had to take a leave from school. It really sucked because of course I really wanted to get through my classes without interruption.

I've just recently started to feel better as in walking around and just being in less pain where my bones just throb badly. I eat veryyy tiny portions now like a few spoonfulls of food...any more than that and I vomit up everything. I'm basically learning to cope with it and now I'm able to get back into the world and go find myself a job. I have every intention on continuing with my makeup career, I'm just taking this time to get myself together.

I've missed my blog so much, creating makeup looks and doing product reviews. I'm just glad to be back. You'll notice a few changes around my blog as well as the domain name change. Just keep me in your prayers ladies :)

Review: Sigma E-45 Small Tapered Blending Brush

sigma e45 brush mac 226 dupe

Sigma's E45 small tapered blending brush is of course for blending. What makes this brush a little different from alot of other tapered blending brushes is it's pointy tip, making crease-work easier. It's pointy little tip allows you to get into those little spots with more precision. It's fluffiness still allows you to blend effortlessly.

How-to use: Pick up color with just the tip and apply to crease to add depth and dimension to your eyes. The first thing I noted about this brush was how soft it was. I like that it's fluffy put still precise.

Most likely, you've heard that the Sigma E45 is a dupe for MAC's 226 brush. The two things that make this brush better are of course the price but also the tips are different. As a makeup artist, I want the best quality for the lowest price for my pro kit. The Sigma E45 also has a pointy tip whereas the MAC 226 is a bit rounded at the tip. I'd prefer the Sigma E45 for a tapered blending brush on myself because of my small eyes.

Do you use a tapered blending brush? If so, which one do you like to use?

Review: Perlier Volcanic Thermal Renewing Body Scrub

Hey beauties! Every since I started Esthetics school, the word spa has a whole new meaning to me. I learn in a spa setting and use spa products all day, scrubs included. Perlier, HSN and iFabbo teamed up to send me this lovely little product.

Scrubs are designed to exfoliate and hydrate your skin while also increasing circulation. You want it to remove the dead skin cells that clog your follicles without being too rough or irritating your skin. Because our face is a lot softer and sensitive than the rest of our body, body scrubs will be a little bit rougher than facial scrubs.

"Much more than just a scrub, it is a true beauty treatment for the body. Various-sized natural minerals deeply stimulate skin regeneration while smoothing out the outer skin. With the energy of volcanic stones, it revives the vital functions of the skin and makes it firm, velvety, more receptive to the following treatments with results comparable to a spa. Massage on moist skin and rinse with fresh water."

Pros:
Fresh Scent
Not harsh like other body scrubs
Plenty of product for use
Contains natural minerals
Jelly-like texture
Had different sized particles for multiple benefits

Cons:
Larger particles might be too rough and dissolve slowly
Nothing thermal or warm about the scrub

I expected a strong and overwhelming smell, mainly because the packaging and color reminds me of icy hot hehe; but the scent was light and refreshing. I enjoyed this scrub, it left my skin feeling a bit smoother and refreshed. I think it'd be nice for an at-home spa evening.

My Rating: 7/10

The Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub is 6.7 fl oz (200mL), made in Italy, and can be found on HSN for $25. Use the code iFabbo5 to receive $5 off your purchase.

Do you have a favorite body scrub?

Fall/Autumn Wishlist #1 (Beauty Edition)

Autumn is officially upon us. You already know what that means..goodbye neon makeup. Hello dark lippies, golden eyes and deep nail polishes. I wasn't the biggest fan of the autumn makeup trends but hey..the makeup artist is maturing. I've compiled a list of makeup items that I'd like to own for the season. Maybe you can use some of these items for your own wishlist..if you don't find them too daring. Without further chatting..let's jump into it!

Review: BH Cosmetics 10 Color Camouflage Concealer Palette

I've tried other concealers, but this my first concealer palette. Even though I'm a huge fan of BH Cosmetics eye shadow palettes, I was indecisive about purchasing this palette for awhile because of the price being extremely affordable. I wanted it to be good quality regardless of the inexpensive price. As an aspiring makeup up artist, I was pretty excited about all the different shades in the palette. I'm actually impressed with the quality of the concealers. The only con I have so far is that I wish there was a light green concealer; then it'd be perfect!

Color Ranges

The colors range from lightest to darkest tones with a few pink/salmon shades perfect for hiding blues such as under eye circles and veins. All of the shades are pretty creamy which is perfect especially for mixing to achieve your perfect shade. You want to make sure you set it with a powder whether it be translucent or a skin-tone shade powder. They're creamy without being too oily; just perfect for dry, oily or combination skin.

Even if you're not an MUA, you could probably find atleast 3 of these shades that could be useful.

1. Skin tone- Cover blemishes
2. Lighter than your skin- highlighting & hiding dark circles
3. Darker than your skin tone- Contouring and adding warmth to your face

I'd suggest, sanitizing your hands first, using your finger to apply the product. This will warm it up, make it easier to blend out and ensure you can get into your tricky spots.  Of course if you're using it on several clients, you'd like to use stainless steel products with the palette. Overall, I'm really impressed and I'm glad I purchased this palette!

What's your go-to concealer these days?

Review: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

smashbox photo finish foundation primer

I've tried a few foundation primers before but never a "high-end" primer. I'm a firm believer in all types of primers so I feel like they're absolutely necessary just to prep and prime (no mac pun intended) your face, eyes, lips etc. In the next month or so I'll definitely be posting a huge informative post on primers.

I applied the primer after my moisturizer and before my foundation just in the T-zone (my preference). This primer made my face feel a lot more smoother than other primers I've tried. The primer has that silky silicone feel and it's colorless. It totally hid those little fine lines and creases that would normally stand out when you get up close and personal once you've applied your foundation. My foundation lasted all day, meaning I didn't have do powder touch ups throughout the day.

Major Ingredients:
Dimethicone
Trisiloxane
Silica
Safflower Seed Extract,
Water
Grape Seed Extract
Cola Acuminata Seed Extract
Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract

This 60% water-based, oil free primer comes in four separate sizes. Prices range from $10-$50 at Sephora. Overall: I'm inlove with this primer. The only con is the price of course, but some things you have to invest in. I'd definitely use this on clients!

What foundation primer are you loving?
